Two robots.
One difference.

Same quad-motor cleaning. Same Clear app. Same warranty. Clear UV adds a built-in UV-C lamp. Clear S doesn't.

What every Clear includes

Vacuums. Scrubs.
Filters. Climbs walls.

Both robots cover the floor, walls, and waterline every cycle — at 8,500+ gallons per hour through fine-mesh UltraFilters. Run them from the control box, or schedule and drive from the Clear app on iOS or Android. Clear UV adds a built-in UV-C lamp that sanitizes water as the robot moves it. Clear S leaves the lamp out.

The lineup

Shop Clear UV & Clear S.

Identical cleaning hardware on both robots. Clear UV adds a patented in-robot UV-C lamp that disinfects water as it moves through the pump. Clear S is the same robot without the lamp — for owners who already run UV or ozone at the pump, or don't want to.

The hardware that cleans your pool is identical on both robots. The only thing Clear UV adds is the patented in-robot UV-C lamp — and a $250 difference in price.

Why Clear

Four things you can measure.

No vague adjectives. Just numbers and features that are easy to verify against any other pool robot you're considering.

  • Built-in UV-C lamp (Clear UV only). The only pool robot with a UV light inside. Treats water on contact as the pump moves it — no separate equipment, no chemicals added.

  • 8,500+ gallons per hour. Two pump motors and two drive motors — more than 2× the flow of typical residential pool robots. A pool gets filtered multiple times per cycle.

  • Climbs walls. Cleans the waterline. Onboard gyroscope and accelerometer track movement — not random wandering. Coverage tightens after the first 2–3 cycles.

  • iOS and Android. Schedule weekly cycles. Drive manually with the joystick. Check real-time water temperature. Pair in under a minute. Free.

By the numbers

Numbers that
mean something.

  • 8,500 plus gallons per hour A typical residential pool gets filtered multiple times per cycle.
  • typical robot flow More than double the gph of most residential pool cleaners on the market.
  • 50ft max pool length 59 ft anti-tangle cable. Working depth 2.5–16.4 ft.
  • UV-C in-robot lamp (Clear UV) Sanitizes water on contact as the pump cycles it through the robot.

Which Clear fits

A simple way to decide.

Both robots clean identically. The choice is about water care: do you want a UV-C lamp doing it inside the robot — or are you fine handling sanitation with chlorine, salt, or a separate UV system?

Pick Clear UV if…

  • You want UV-C sanitation built into the cleaner — not a separate bulb at the pump.
  • Pollen season, pool parties, and shaded pools push your chemistry hard.
  • You'd rather pay $250 once for the lamp than retrofit a UV system later.
  • You'd like to reduce chlorine handling without giving it up entirely.

Pick Clear S if…

  • You already run UV or ozone at the pump and don't need a second source.
  • You'd rather save $250 and skip the UV-C lamp.
  • Your chlorine or salt routine handles sanitation already.
  • You only need the cleaning, scrubbing, filtration, and Clear app.

Built-in UV

Sanitizes while
it cleans.

Most pool robots only vacuum debris. Clear UV vacuums and disinfects. Water flows past a UV-C lamp inside the body as the pump cycles it — no separate equipment, no chemicals added.

Common questions

Buying a Clear robot, answered.

Quick answers to the questions owners ask most before they buy. Looking for setup or troubleshooting? Visit the full FAQ or support hub.

What's the difference between Clear UV and Clear S?

Both robots have identical cleaning hardware: 8,500+ gph four-motor flow, full floor/wall/waterline coverage, active scrubbing brushes front and rear, the same Clear app, and the C9 microprocessor.

The only difference: Clear UV adds a built-in UV-C lamp inside the robot body. As the pump cycles water through the cleaner, water passes the lamp and gets disinfected on contact — no chemicals added by the robot, no separate equipment.

Pick Clear UV if you want UV-C sanitation done by the robot — especially in pollen season, shaded pools, or pools that see a lot of guests. Pick Clear S if you already run UV/ozone at the pump, or if you want the same cleaning power for $250 less.

Will a Clear robot fit my pool?

Both Clear UV and Clear S are engineered for everyday in-ground residential pools up to 50 ft long. The 59-ft anti-tangle cable reaches every corner of a typical pool.

Clear cleans gunite, tile, vinyl, fiberglass, and pebble surfaces. The wall-climb logic handles most slopes and curves. Above-ground pools and unusually shaped commercial pools aren't a great fit — if your pool is unusual in any way, contact us with details and we'll tell you straight.

How long does a cleaning cycle take?

A typical residential pool runs a full cycle in about 2 hours. The quad-motor flow rate (8,500+ gal/hr) means a typical pool is filtered multiple times during a single cycle.

The Clear app's weekly timer lets you schedule cleanings (we recommend 2–3 times per week for most owners; daily during heavy debris periods like pollen season or after a storm).

Does Clear UV replace my pool chemicals?

No — Clear UV's in-robot ultraviolet light works alongside your normal chlorine or saltwater system, not instead of it. Most owners find they can reduce chlorine use noticeably once the UV-C lamp is running consistently, but Clear UV is a sanitation enhancement, not a chemical-free guarantee.

Keep your water balance dialed in. Clear UV does the rest in the water — quietly and continuously.

What's the warranty?

Every Clear robot ships with a 2-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects on the robot, control box, cable, and the UV module (Clear UV). Replacement parts like brushes and filter cartridges are wear items.

Warranty service is handled directly by Clear's U.S.-based owner support team — no third-party return depot, no waiting weeks for a callback.

Shipping, returns, and how I actually receive my Clear.

Free shipping within the continental U.S. on every Clear robot. For preorders, your card is authorized at order and charged when the robot ships — cancel anytime before shipment.

If your Clear isn't right for your pool, you have 30 days from delivery to send it back for a full refund.

Outside the U.S.? Reach out — we'll help with availability in your region.

Do I need a special outlet or any plumbing changes?

No plumbing changes — Clear is a self-contained robotic cleaner with its own quad-motor filtration. It does not connect to your pump or skimmer.

You will need a standard GFCI-protected outlet near the pool deck (within the 59-ft cable reach of where you'd typically place the control box, which should sit at least 10 ft from the water on dry ground). That's it.

How do I clean and maintain a Clear robot?

Day-to-day, two small habits keep Clear performing at its best:

  • Rinse the UltraBin after each cleaning cycle — lift it out, empty, rinse, return.
  • Rinse the UltraFilter when flow noticeably drops (usually every 1–3 cycles).

Plan to replace filter cartridges every 3–6 months depending on debris load, and brushes about once a year for heavy users. The full owner manual on our support hub covers seasonal storage too.

Is the Clear app required?

No. Every Clear robot will run a full cleaning cycle from the control box on its own — drop it in, press Start.

The app is where Clear becomes effortless: schedule cleanings, manually drive the robot with the on-screen joystick, check water temperature, and see cycle status from anywhere. It's free for iOS and Android.
